Why the DS3678-DP
The DS3678-DP is the cordless version of Zebra's direct-part-mark scanner. It adds a 3,100 mAh battery, Bluetooth and a charging cradle to the same imager, which suits parts too large or too heavy to carry to a bench scanner.
A Class 1 Bluetooth link with a minimum 100 m line-of-sight range lets an operator scan marked engine blocks, castings and fabrications where they sit, then send data to the cradle.
Zebra rates the PowerPrecision+ 3,100 mAh battery at more than 100,000 scans per charge. The cradle charges it in up to 3 hours on external power or up to 10 hours from USB, per Zebra's reference guide.
Zebra lists the STB3678-C100F3WW and the industrial FLB3678-C100F3WW cradle. The guide describes up to seven scanners paired to one cradle (Multipoint-to-Point) and an Out of Range Batch Mode on supported configurations.
Printed codes and direct part marks such as dot peen, laser etch and chemical etch, with a 10 mil Data Matrix typically read from 0.0 cm to 8.6 cm on Zebra's DP table, held close to the part. Zebra's reference guide lists the DPA at 0.5 cm to 12.1 cm.
Sealed to IP65 and IP68, with multiple 3.0 m drops to concrete at room temperature, 2.4 m drops from -20 °C to 50 °C, and 7,500 tumbles at 1.0 m. At 402 g it is 98 g heavier than the corded model.
Allmark can configure the scanner with 123Scan, set up the cradle, connect it to your MES, ERP or warehouse software and train your team on site.

For buyers in India
These are the points buyers in India ask us about the DS3678-DP. Mention the ones that apply to you when you request a quote.
Keep the DS3678-DP cradle in shade, out of direct sun and away from furnaces, or it can be outside its charging range. Zebra gives the cradle a nominal charging range of 0 °C to 40 °C and an ideal range of 5 °C to 35 °C.
Confirm the exact DS3678-DP configuration with us before ordering, as the two India codes differ. The reference guide lists DS3678-DP2F003VZK and DS3678-DPAF002VZK as 'India & Korea' cordless direct-part-mark configurations. The descriptions mention FIPS (a US government security standard for encryption), and the DPAF002VZK adds an industrial-focus option.
For a freezer colder than -20 °C, choose the corded DS3608-DP: Zebra rates it down to -30 °C, and the cordless DS3678-DP down to -20 °C. For moves in and out of a freezer, Zebra suggests a heated holder to reduce condensation on the scan window.

More detail
Zebra's heading for the DP model: "Unstoppable performance for 1D/2D direct part marks (DPM) and barcodes."
As members of the Zebra 3600 Ultra-Rugged Series of scanners, the 1D/2D DS3608-DP corded and DS3678-DP cordless scanners, which Zebra calls "practically indestructible", bring what Zebra describes as "dependable lightning-fast capture of virtually every direct part mark" to aerospace, automotive and other manufacturing plants where end-to-end traceability of every product component is required. The DS3608-DP and DS3678-DP also capture virtually any 1D and 2D barcode displayed on a screen or printed on a label; Zebra calls this "real value — unstoppable performance in a single flexible device" that can meet scanning needs from the assembly line to quality control.

Questions buyers ask
The DS3678-DP price depends on the cable or accessories you need and the quantity. Ask our team for today's competitive price: share your requirement and budget, and we will help you choose the right configuration and send a written quotation with current pricing and delivery time.
The scanner pairs by Bluetooth with its cradle, and the cradle also charges the battery, so plan for one cradle per workstation or per group of scanners. Zebra's guide describes up to seven scanners paired to one cradle. Tell us how many scanners you will run so we can quote the right cradles.
Zebra's spec sheet rates it at more than 100,000 scans per charge for the 3,100 mAh battery, while its reference guide says up to 80,000 for the DP, so plan on the lower figure until confirmed. The cradle charges it in up to 3 hours on external power or up to 10 hours on USB. Scanning conditions, temperature and settings change the real figure.
Zebra's guide describes an Out of Range Batch Mode on supported configurations, where scans are stored and sent when the link returns. The minimum line-of-sight range is 100 m for Class 1. Confirm the mode is available on the part number you choose when you ask for a quotation.
It is rated to -20 °C, and the cradle's 0 °C to 40 °C charging range means the cradle must stay in a warm area. For freezers at -30 °C choose the corded DS3608-DP.
Zebra's product page describes the DP as Industrial Green and the DPA as black, with the same family design. The India part numbers differ, DS3678-DP2F003VZK and DS3678-DPAF002VZK, and their descriptions in the guide are not the same, so ask us to confirm which configuration you need.
Yes. We install the DS3678-DP at your site, set it to send data the way your ERP, warehouse or billing software expects (our own warehouse management system included) and train your team. Tell us the software when you ask for a quote, and we include the setup in the quotation.
Send what you scan, where you scan it and the software it feeds; we reply with a written quotation.
