Software

Warehouse, production, label, stock and asset software that works with the barcode printers, scanners and mobile computers we supply, plus ready-to-install apps.

ACE-UniLabel is Allmark's own label printing software for Windows: a local-first industrial label execution platform designed to keep production labelling close to the line. Operators enter only the values that change, supervisors decide what each screen prints, an administrator decides who may change it, and the PC keeps a record of every print.

Every run, today

Barcode label printing without opening the label designer every time

Your labels are already designed and approved, so a run of batch number labels, PO labels or QC passed stickers should not need the label designer. Today it often does:

  • Values are retyped in the designer for every run.
  • Unless the designer is set to print only, whoever types can also change the approved layout.
  • The run waits for whoever knows the designer.

ACE-UniLabel is barcode label printing software that turns the approved label into an operator print screen once, so a run no longer needs the label designer; it is opened to make or change a design.

Two runs also wait on someone's judgement:

How it works

From your label file to a print screen in three steps

Turn an existing label file (.prn) and a picture of the printed label into a reusable operator print screen. Your label designer stays as it is.

  1. Choose the label file and its picture. The file your label designer saves for the printer (.prn) and a picture of that label as it prints.
  2. Tap each value on the picture. Mark it as typed each time, always the same, a barcode, a number that counts up, or a header the operator cannot change.
  3. Pick the printer and start printing. The screen is saved, so the next shift opens it and prints.

For operators

One screen to enter what changes and print

Give operators a purpose-built screen to enter the fields that change and print the approved label layout.

  • A live preview shows the label before it prints.
  • Quantity buttons set the copies; Print Label sends the job.
  • Fields that come from the label, a product, the scale or the numbering are locked, so the operator types only the rest.
  • The screen counts the prints done and failed in the session.

Set up once

Set up each approved label once; operators only enter and print

A supervisor or administrator turns the approved label into a print screen once, and the operator runs it every shift.

Once, at setup

Bring the approved label file and a picture of it. Decide which values the operator types each time and which stay as the approved design prints them. The app marks anything it is unsure of for a person to check before the screen is saved, and the screen is tied to its printer.

Every run, on the line

The operator opens the screen by its name, with no layout to edit and no fields to sort out. Enter the values, check the preview, set the quantity and print.

One station, several labels

Each approved label becomes its own named screen with its own printer, opened by its name. A screen no longer in use is taken offline or archived, and a supervisor can restore it.

The first printed label

The preview is drawn by the app. The first label off your own printer, on your own labels, is the real check of size, resolution and media.

Operators enter the run values; a supervisor or administrator sets up the screens, and an administrator decides who may change them; whoever owns the label design keeps it in your label designer. If one person who knows the designer makes every label and prints every run, a separate operator screen adds little.

Label-to-Screen Assessment: see your own label as an operator screen

Send one approved label file (.prn) and a photo of the printed label by WhatsApp or email. Our software team sends back the values that change and what each box will be called, a draft operator screen made from your label, and the questions still open. Printing serial numbers? Add your numbering rule and the reprint you worry about. There is no charge for the assessment; ACE-UniLabel itself is licensed per computer and quoted in writing.

Where the data comes from

Fill each label from a workbook, a product or the address book

Typing is only one way in. Typed labels, address labels, serial numbers, weighing and Excel work lists are features you choose in your licence; products come with every licence. One print screen can use several of them. Serial numbers and weighing have their own sections below.

Print from the workbook you already keep

Upload the workbook you already keep. Say which column decides the label screen and which columns tell one row from another. When next month's sheet arrives, the app shows the rows that are new, gone or changed, and nothing applies until a supervisor approves it; a merged block column is read as one group, and each column is matched to its label box once per screen. Operators open a line and print its rows from the print screen.

Or load changing label data from Excel straight onto a print screen: tick the rows, check each against the label preview and print the ticked rows. Workbooks are Excel .xlsx files; in the template you download for the screen, row 1 carries the box names and each row below is one label.

Let the product fill its own fields

Select the product, let product facts fill automatically, enter only the run-specific details, then print. Each product has a status (active, on hold, obsolete or archived), and the list shows which label screen each product can fill and what is still missing.

Number & Print

Serial number labels: print ranges and know what to do after a jam

Issue serial-number ranges, print the formatted number on the label, and keep reprints and voids under control. Choose the box that counts up, the next number and whether it counts separately for each batch; operators print a range from Number & Print, and a reprint carries the original number.

The printer jammed on 0004218. Reprint it or move on? The operator does not have to guess:

  • A range that includes numbers already printed stops before anything prints. A supervisor signs with their own username and password, and the reason for the reprint is recorded.
  • The reprint keeps the original number and does not move the counter.
  • If the printer cannot be reached before a run, no number is used. If it stops during a run, the screen names the numbers that did not print, and the operator prints them again under the same numbers after a supervisor signs and the reason is recorded.
  • The shift handover shows the first and last number printed, the reprints and the number the next shift starts at.

The printer does not report each label back, so the operator still checks the printed label and scraps a damaged one; ACE-UniLabel records what was decided. Numbering is kept on each computer. It is not a GS1, pharma or regulatory serialization system.

Weigh & Print

Print only when the weight passes, at the scale

Connect label printing to a weighing process: open a batch, judge each stable reading against the set rule, and print only when it passes. The scale is set up on the same PC, with its serial-port settings and a live reading.

  • For each batch, choose whether the weight, the piece count or both decide printing.
  • Enter the weight band, or learn it from the first cases for QA to approve; for counted parts, the weight can be made to agree with the count through the average piece weight.
  • The station waits for a steady reading. A held case shows its reason on screen: low, high, no band set, or a count that does not match the weight.
  • Exceptions follow each person's role: challenge a reading, manual weight, partial case, reprint, pause, shift handover and close batch. Each weighing is recorded on the PC, and manual weights and overrides are listed on the batch summary.
  • At shift start the station lists its own checks, including whether the scale has been verified against a certified test weight.

Control and records

Decide who can print, change and approve

  • Control who can see, use, create, change or delete each print screen.
  • Decide which role may view or edit each operator-entered field, while fields set by the label, a product, the scale or the numbering stay controlled by that workflow.
  • Three roles: operator, supervisor and administrator.
  • Review print history and reports: what was sent to print, by whom, on which printer, and why a print failed.
  • Back up on a schedule you set, check each backup, and keep a second copy on a USB stick or a network folder.

Questions buyers ask

ACE-UniLabel FAQ

Do we need a new label designer?

No. Keep the tool that makes your label today. ACE-UniLabel uses the label file (.prn) it saves and a picture of the printed label.

Is ACE-UniLabel barcode label software?

Yes. As barcode printing software for Windows, it prints the label your designer made, barcodes and QR codes included, and fills its values from what operators type, an Excel sheet, a product, a scale or a serial number. To draw a new layout, you keep your label designer.

Can we print a .prn file without opening the label designer?

Yes. ACE-UniLabel makes an operator print screen from the .prn file your label designer saves and a picture of the printed label, so that file prints with new values each time without opening the designer.

Which printers and scales does it work with?

Tested interoperability with selected OHAUS weighing-scale and GoDEX/TSC thermal-printer configurations. Compatibility is model- and configuration-dependent; confirmation is provided during solution assessment. We check your printer, scale and label file before we quote.

Does it need the internet or a server?

No. It runs on a Windows 10 or 11 64-bit PC near the line with its own database on the PC, and keeps working offline.

How is ACE-UniLabel licensed?

Per computer, with the features you need: typed labels, address labels, serial numbers, weighing and Excel work lists. Products and backups come with every licence, and the licence is quoted in writing.

What is the price of ACE-UniLabel in India?
