Why the BS510 BT

Cordless 2D scanning for a full shift, with real-time or batch mode

The BS510 BT is the Bluetooth model of TVS Electronics' BS510 Series 2D handheld scanner, and works with a charging cradle. TVS lists it with the wired BS510 on one product page and one specification table: BS 510 Series - SR (Wired/BT).

Reads worn and wrinkled labels

TVS says its SmartLight 3.0 lighting and NPU decoding read wrinkled, blurred, damaged and dirty barcodes in a single pass. TVS rates it for codes from 3 mil and contrast down to 15%.

Walk away from the counter

Bluetooth 5.0 to the cradle, up to 70 m in open space as TVS rates it. Real-time mode sends each scan at once; batch mode keeps scans when the scanner is out of range.

One charge for a full shift

A 2,600 mAh battery rated for at least 12 hours and up to 100,000 scans a charge. TVS gives a charging time of 5 hours at 5 V, 2 A.

Takes drops on shop and warehouse floors

IP52 against dust and splashes and multiple 1.8 m drops to concrete, in a PC + ABS housing. It works from 0 °C to 50 °C.

Plug in and scan

TVS lists it as plug and play with no driver to install on Windows, Android and Linux, over USB-HID (keyboard), USB-CDC (virtual COM) or RS232.

Clear feedback in noisy places

A buzzer and an LED confirm every read, so staff know the scan went through on a busy billing counter or warehouse floor.

Using the BS510 BT in India

These are the points buyers in India ask us about the BS510 BT. Mention the ones that apply to you when you request a quote.

Reads the QR and product codes Indian counters scan

Try your own labels before rollout: TVS lists QR, Micro QR, Data Matrix, PDF417 and GS1 DataBar with EAN-13 and Code 128, from 3 mil. That covers UPI QR codes, the QR on GST e-invoices and EAN-13 product codes. Bring the codes you scan when you ask for a quote.

Rated 0 °C to 50 °C; keep it out of cold rooms

TVS rates the BS510 BT to work from 0 °C to 50 °C, so it suits billing counters and dry stock rooms. For cold storage below 0 °C, ask us for a model rated lower.

Batch mode for godowns and back rooms

Racks, walls and metal shelving shorten Bluetooth range below the 70 m TVS gives for open space. In batch mode the BS510 BT keeps the scans and sends them when it is back in range of the cradle.

Exploring for a different use?

If your job differs from what the BS510 BT is built for, this TVS model may fit it better:

  • Buyers who read dot-peen, laser-etched or low-contrast marks on metal and PCBs, work on a wet, oily factory floor, or need a scanner rated below 0 °C, often look at the TVS BS513 Series (IP68, multiple 3 m drops, 10% minimum contrast, -20 °C to 50 °C).

Questions buyers ask

BS510 BT FAQ

What is the price of the TVS BS510 BT in India?

The BS510 BT price depends on the cable or accessories you need and the quantity. We do not publish prices: share the model, quantity and city, and we send a written quotation with current pricing and delivery time, replying within one working day.

Will the BS510 BT work with our billing or ERP software?

Usually, yes. TVS lists it as plug and play with no driver to install on Windows, Android and Linux. As a USB keyboard (USB-HID) the scan appears wherever the cursor is, as in most billing and ERP screens; it can also run as a virtual COM port (USB-CDC) or over RS232. Tell us your software when you ask for a quote.

What happens when staff walk out of Bluetooth range?

TVS rates the range at up to 70 m in open space; walls, racks and metal shelving shorten it. In batch mode the scanner keeps the scans and sends them when it is back in range of the cradle, so scans taken in a back room or godown are not lost.

Is there a wired BS510?

Yes. TVS lists the wired and Bluetooth models on one product page, BS 510 Series - SR (Wired/BT), with one specification table. The wired scanner weighs 158.5 g and connects over USB or RS232 (USB-HID, USB-CDC or RS232). Mention which one you need in your quote request.

HD or SR: which version do we need?

TVS's product page lists the SR version; TVS's BS510 BT datasheet and its BS510 Series brochure give decoding ranges for both the HD (high density) and SR (standard range) versions. HD reads small, dense codes up close (3.33 mil Code 128 from 4.5 cm to 11 cm). SR reaches further (10 mil Code 128 from 3 cm to 44 cm, a 20.83 mil QR to 46 cm). For billing and carton labels, SR is the usual choice; for tiny labels on small parts, ask for HD and we confirm the version in the quotation.

Can we get the datasheet?

Yes. Download TVS's BS510 Series brochure from TVS's website (the link is under the specifications); it covers the wired and Bluetooth models. We confirm the model, version and what is supplied with it in writing in your quotation.

Can Allmark install the BS510 BT and connect it to our software?

Yes. We install the BS510 BT at your site, set it to send data the way your ERP, warehouse or billing software expects (our own warehouse management system included) and train your team. Tell us the software when you ask for a quote, and we include the setup in the quotation.
