Reads direct part marks on the line, and survives the shop floor
The BS513 Series is TVS Electronics' ultra-rugged DPM scanner for traceability on metal, plastic and PCBs. TVS's product page lists the SR (standard range) and HD (high density) versions; TVS's datasheet adds XD (extra density) and LR (long range). There is a wired model that connects by USB or RS232, and a Bluetooth 5.0 model with a detachable 3250 mAh battery that works with a cradle up to 70 m away.
Reads marks cut into the part
TVS says its quad-core AI decoding reads dot-peen, laser and chemically etched marks, and blurred, damaged and distorted codes on metal and plastic. TVS rates it for codes from 3 mil and contrast down to 10%.
Light that cuts glare
Red and blue surface lighting and two white dot lights (short and long distance). TVS says the multi-spectral lighting cuts glare on reflective and low-contrast marks.
A version for each mark and distance
SR reads labels and DPM along the line, a 20 mil Code 128 up to 114 cm; HD reads dense codes up close. XD reads micro Data Matrix and QR codes on PCBs and small parts, such as a 4.17 mil Data Matrix from 1.5 cm to 3.5 cm and a 5.83 mil QR from 0.5 cm. LR is for labels on racks, pallets and large parts read from a distance; TVS's datasheet gives no LR reading ranges yet, so we confirm them in the quotation.
Built for harsh floors
IP68, multiple 3 m drops and 1,000 tumbles from 1 m, in a PC + GF + TPU housing with a trigger rated for 5 million presses. TVS says it resists water, oil and dust.
Cordless for a full shift
TVS's datasheet rates the Bluetooth model at up to 70 m from the cradle, with a detachable 3250 mAh battery for 12+ hours per charge. Bluetooth 5.0 reconnects on its own when the operator comes back in range.
Confirms reads in loud plants
A 100 dB+ buzzer, a green LED on a good read and vibration, so operators know the mark was read next to running machines.
Works from -20 °C to 50 °C

Check the version against your own parts
DPM reading depends on the mark, the metal and its finish. Before you order, tell us the mark type (dot-peen, laser or chemical etch), its size and the material, and we match the version to it in the quotation.
Wired: USB or RS232 to your line PC
The wired model connects to USB through an RJ45 to USB-A cable at 5 V, 250 mA, or to RS232 with the optional RJ45 to RS232 cable (2 m) for older line PCs and PLC gateways. Tell us which port your station uses.
