Service stickers for equipment must show the right next due date

A service due sticker, or equipment maintenance sticker, stays on the equipment until the next visit. If the next due date is worked out by hand, or the QR code says something other than the printed text, the mistake shows up only when the service is missed.

ACE-UniLabel prints your service tag from one screen, with the next due date proposed from the label itself and the QR code filled from the same boxes.

Pre-printed or handwritten stickersStickers bought printed and filled in by hand.Very low volumes.Handwriting varies from one person to the next, and a pre-printed sticker cannot carry the lot's own batch, date or QR code.
Retype in the label designerThe operator opens the label design and types each value before printing.A few labels a day in one format.Every value is retyped by hand; unless the designer is set to print only, the person printing may also change the layout, and there is often no record of who printed what.

How ACE-UniLabel prints service due stickers

Turn an existing label file (.prn) and a picture of the printed label into a reusable operator print screen. These screens were made from the example label above.

  • The next due date is proposed from the label's own period between the service date and the due date. The technician confirms or changes it, and the app warns before printing if the dates break that period.
  • When it reads a label, Make Screen from Label warns if the printed text and the barcode do not match, so the mismatch is fixed before the first tag prints.
  • With the Excel and work lists feature, load a list of units from Excel, review each row against the label preview, and print selected or all valid pending rows.

Checklist

Before you choose service sticker software

Ask these questions of any way of printing service-due labels, ours included. At the demo we answer them on your own label.

  • Is the next due date proposed from the label, and checked before printing?
  • Do the QR code and the printed dates always match?
  • Can a list of units print as one batch from an Excel sheet?
  • Is every printed tag recorded?

Questions buyers ask

Service-due labels: questions

What should a service due sticker show?

The service date, the next due date, the equipment ID, who serviced it and a space to sign; many also carry a QR code with the same details, as on the example tag above.

Can the next due date fill itself?

The app proposes it from the label's own period between the two dates; the technician confirms it or types another date. It never changes a date on its own.

Does the QR code show the new dates?

Yes. On the example tag, the saved screen fills the QR code from the same refill and next-due boxes the technician types, so the code and the printed dates match.

Can we print a batch of tags for a site visit?

Yes, with the Excel and work lists feature: list the units in a sheet, review each row against the label preview, and print the rows you tick.

Can we print service stickers for equipment instead of writing them?

Yes. Print each tag on a supported thermal label printer (we confirm the model in the solution assessment) from one screen, so the dates and the QR code are filled the same way every time.

Which printers and scales does it work with?

Tested interoperability with selected OHAUS weighing-scale and GoDEX/TSC thermal-printer configurations. Compatibility is model- and configuration-dependent; confirmation is provided during solution assessment.
