Software

Warehouse, production, label, stock and asset software that works with the barcode printers, scanners and mobile computers we supply, and the Windows and Android apps we set up for your devices.

Allmark has supplied barcode devices since 2014 and installed more than 75,000 of them for over 2,000 customers. For mobile computers, we help you pick the handheld for the job, set it up and train your team at your site, connect it to SAP or your other ERP, warehouse or billing software and support it from Chennai.

A mobile computer, also called a PDA or HHT (handheld terminal), is a rugged Android device, usually a handheld with a built-in barcode scanner (the wrist-worn WD1 pairs with one). Teams use it for stock counts, picking, receiving, deliveries and store work. Compare the models we supply below, or tell us the job and we will suggest one.

Which model for which job

Start from the work your team does

The work decides the mobile computer: picking, store tasks, field routes, key-heavy data entry, RFID counts or hands-free loading. Each job below names the models made for it.

Warehouse picking, receiving and stock counts

Scanning all shift long; for labels on higher racks, ask for an extended-range scan engine (the CT32 lists a FlexRange option; the Zebra TC22/TC27, TC53e/TC58e and TC73/TC78 offer the SE55; Newland lists an N7 Near & Far version that reads a 100 mil Code 39 from 50 to 600 cm).

Consider: Honeywell CT32, Newland MT93, Newland N7 (Near & Far version), Zebra TC22 / TC27, Zebra TC53e / TC58e, Zebra TC73 / TC78 (ultra-rugged)

Retail store, shelf and billing support

Price checks, stock look-ups and store work on a 5.5- to 6-inch touch screen, for example the 5.5-inch EDA52 and HT1 Pro, the 5.7-inch NFT10 or the 6-inch Zebra TC22/TC27 and TC53e/TC58e.

Consider: Honeywell ScanPal EDA52, TVS HT1 Pro, Newland NFT10, Zebra TC22 / TC27, Zebra TC53e / TC58e

Delivery, field sales and multi-site teams

Work away from Wi-Fi needs a cellular (4G or 5G) model; the models below are examples, and the HS65, the EDA52 4G version, the Newland MT67, N7 and MT93-U, the MT90 4G model and the WD1 4G version also take a SIM.

Consider: TVS HT1 Pro, Newland MT93, Newland NFT10, Newland MT95 (5G), Honeywell CT32 (5G option), Zebra TC27 (5G), Zebra TC58e (5G), Zebra TC78 (5G)

Data entry with physical keys

Handhelds with a backlit keypad under a 4-inch screen for staff who key in quantities and codes all day: 24 keys on the MT67, 29 keys and a pistol grip on the N7.

Consider: Newland MT67, Newland N7

RFID stock counts and asset tracking

A handheld with a built-in UHF RFID reader and barcode scanning, to count many tagged items at once.

Consider: Newland MT93-U

Hands-free picking and loading

A wrist-worn terminal that pairs with a Bluetooth scanner, so both hands stay free.

Consider: Newland WD1

How to choose

Six questions that decide the model

For Android update dates, 4G and 5G bands, batteries and how scans reach your software, read our mobile computer buying guide. Already using handhelds that misbehave? See the mobile computer troubleshooting guide.

How far away are the barcodes?

A standard imager reads labels in hand and on shelves within arm's reach. For pallet labels and high racks, ask for an extended-range scan engine where the model offers one (the Honeywell CT32 lists a FlexRange S0803 option; the Zebra TC22/TC27, TC53e/TC58e and TC73/TC78 offer the SE55; Newland lists an N7 Near & Far version with two 2D scan engines that reads a 100 mil Code 39 from 50 to 600 cm).

Wi-Fi only, or 4G / 5G as well?

Inside a warehouse or store, Wi-Fi is usually enough. Delivery staff, field sales and multi-site teams need a cellular model. The Newland pages, the Honeywell CT32 and ScanPal EDA52 and the TVS HS65 and HT1 Pro list the maker's 4G bands; the Zebra pages name the networks and point to Zebra's band list. We confirm the India model's bands before you order.

Which Android version, and for how long?

Check the Android version the device ships with and the maker's update plan on the product page, because apps and device-management tools follow Android support.

How rough is the work?

Compare the sealing (IP rating) and the drop height in the table. Concrete floors, loading docks and outdoor use benefit from the higher figures; a store counter needs less.

Does the shift run longer than one battery?

The product pages give a removable battery for the CT32, EDA52, MT93, MT93-U, HS65 and TC22/TC27, a removable Warm Swap one for the TC53e/TC58e and TC73/TC78 (Hot Swap on TC73/TC78 premium configurations), a detachable hot-swap one for the HT1 Pro and T1 Pro 6 GB (a TVS sheet shared with Allmark) and a hot-swap one for the MT95, MT67 and N7, so a charged spare can be swapped in during a long shift; the NFT10 and MT90 pages do not say, so we confirm it in your quotation; the wrist-worn WD1 has a built-in battery and is charged between shifts. Spare batteries and multi-slot chargers are quoted with the devices.

What software will it run?

Most buyers run a warehouse, billing or ERP app and a device-management tool. Tell us what you use; Allmark connects barcode devices to such software, including our own warehouse management system.

Price

How much does a mobile computer cost in India?

These are enterprise devices, so the price of a Zebra, Honeywell, Newland or TVS mobile computer depends on the configuration and the project. Ask our team for today's competitive price: share your requirement and budget, and we will help you choose the right configuration and send a written quotation with current pricing and delivery time.

Questions buyers ask

Mobile computer FAQ

What is the price of a mobile computer in India?

It depends on the model, the configuration, the quantity, accessories and software. Ask our team for today's competitive price: share your requirement and budget, and we will help you choose the right configuration and send a written quotation with current pricing and delivery time.

Is a mobile computer the same as a PDA, HHT or handheld terminal?

Yes, these are names for the same kind of device: usually a rugged handheld computer with a built-in barcode scanner, used to capture data where the work happens instead of at a desk. HHT is short for handheld terminal; you may also see one called a PDA scanner, an HHT device or a data collection terminal. Today most run Android, so a handheld here may also be sold as an Android PDA, an Android handheld terminal or an Android barcode scanner.

Why not use a normal smartphone with a camera app?

A handheld mobile computer has a dedicated scan engine, a sealed and drop-rated body and, on most models, a removable or hot-swap battery (a wearable such as the WD1 scans with its camera or a paired Bluetooth scanner instead). Each product page lists the maker's figures, so you can compare them with the phone you have in mind.

Do you still supply Windows CE or Windows Mobile handhelds?

No new ones: Microsoft has ended support for Windows CE, Windows Embedded Compact, Windows Embedded Handheld and Windows Mobile, and the current Zebra, Honeywell, Newland and TVS Electronics handhelds we supply run Android. If your app still runs on Windows handhelds, we help you plan the move; see Windows handhelds: support has ended.

Can Allmark connect the handhelds to SAP or our ERP?

Yes. We set each handheld to send scans in the form SAP or your other ERP, warehouse or billing software expects, install it on site and train your team. For one customer we built an on-premise integration between our AllCommerce ACE-WMS and SAP. Tell us which software you run when you ask for a quote; we scope the connection in the quotation.

Do you service mobile computers?

Yes. Depending on the fault and how urgent it is, an engineer visits your site or you bring the handheld to our Chennai office, and you get the repair cost before any work starts. Book a service call.

Do you supply mobile computers outside Chennai?

Yes. We deliver across India.

Tell us the job, we will suggest the device

Send the task (picking, stock count, delivery, retail), the number of users and where they work. We will quote the device, accessories and setup.
