Both hands stay free
The dial is 77 × 56 mm, 17.8 mm thick and weighs 143 g, so pick lists, put-away tasks and delivery details sit on the forearm instead of in a hand. Newland offers an arm sleeve, silicone and Velcro straps.

Why the WD1
The WD1 is Newland's wearable Android terminal: a 2.8-inch Android 13 touch screen worn on the wrist like a large watch. It has no dedicated scan engine; it reads barcodes with its 13 MP camera or, more usually, takes scans from a paired Newland Bluetooth scanner, and comes in a 4G version and a Wi-Fi-only version.
The dial is 77 × 56 mm, 17.8 mm thick and weighs 143 g, so pick lists, put-away tasks and delivery details sit on the forearm instead of in a hand. Newland offers an arm sleeve, silicone and Velcro straps.
Newland designed the WD1 to pair over Bluetooth 5.0 with peripherals for barcode scanning, UHF RFID and printing. In its scanner settings you choose the built-in camera or an external Newland scanner as the source, and scanned data goes to your app as keystrokes, through an API, or straight into a text field.
The 4G version takes one nano-SIM and has 4G, 3G and 2G radios; the Wi-Fi version has no mobile radio. Both have dual-band 802.11ac Wi-Fi on 2.4 and 5 GHz, Bluetooth 5.0, and GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou and Galileo positioning.
IP67 sealing, 1.2 m drops to concrete on each of six sides, Corning glass over the screen, and an operating range of -20 °C to 55 °C.
The 3.8 V, 3,300 mAh battery (12.54 Wh) is built in and, per Newland, lasts up to 12 hours on one charge. From below 5%, a full charge takes about 4 hours with the device off or asleep. Single-slot charging cradles combine up to 5 slots.
Android 13 on a 2.0 GHz octa-core processor with 3 GB RAM and 32 GB storage. A user-defined key can be remapped as the scan trigger.

For buyers in India
These are the points buyers in India ask us about the WD1. Mention the ones that apply to you when you request a quote.
The WD1 4G lacks bands 5 and 41, which some Indian operators rely on. Confirm the India model's bands before ordering, or choose the Wi-Fi version for sites with good Wi-Fi. Newland lists FDD bands 1, 3, 7, 8, 20 and 28 and TDD bands 34, 38 and 40 for the WD1 4G. That covers Jio's bands 3 and 40 but not its band 5. It covers Airtel's 1, 3, 8 and 40 but not band 5, used in some circles, and Vi's 1, 3, 8 and 40 but not band 41. Where an operator relies on band 5 or 41, coverage may be weaker than on a phone that has them.
Use the WD1 for data such as pick tasks and scans; if staff must make calls on it, confirm VoLTE first. Newland does not list VoLTE for the WD1, and Jio's voice calls run over VoLTE. The WD1 also has no 5G radio, so on Jio (n28, n78), Airtel and Vi (n78) it stays on 4G.
Sweat, monsoon rain and summer heat are within the WD1's ratings. IP67 means dust-tight and protected against immersion in 1 m of water for 30 minutes, and the WD1 works up to 55 °C in 5-95% humidity, non-condensing. Newland gives a minimum charging temperature of 0 °C and no upper limit.
For a single shift charged overnight, one charging slot per worker is enough, with about 4 hours for a full charge. Newland lists an India-plug adapter, AD18-U-I (9 V, 2 A), for the WD1 and its single-slot cradle, used with the 1 m Type-C cable CBL-TC-10. For a bank of cradles, the AD60-D-M high-volt adapter (19 V, 3 A) has interchangeable plugs, an Indian one among them.

Questions buyers ask
The WD1 price depends on the options and accessories you add and the quantity. Ask our team for today's competitive price: share your requirement and budget, and we will help you choose the right configuration and send a written quotation with current pricing and delivery time.
Not a dedicated scan engine. The WD1 can read barcodes with its 13 MP autofocus camera, and Newland's scanner settings let you switch the source to an external Newland scanner paired over Bluetooth. For fast, repeated scanning in a warehouse, plan it as a pair: the WD1 on the wrist for the task list and a Bluetooth ring, glove or pocket scanner for the codes.
Choose the WD1 when workers need both hands for cartons and the screen only shows the next task; it weighs 143 g and is worn on the wrist. Choose the MT93 when one device must do the scanning, data entry and photos: it has a built-in 2D scan engine, a 5.5-inch screen and a removable 5,000 mAh battery, and weighs 277 g. Both run Android 13 and are sealed to IP67.
Partly. Newland's 4G list (FDD 1, 3, 7, 8, 20, 28; TDD 34, 38, 40) covers bands 3 and 40, used by all three, and bands 1 and 8, used by Airtel and Vi. It lacks band 5, used by Jio and in some Airtel circles, and band 41, used by Vi, so coverage may be weaker where an operator relies on those bands. Confirm the India model's bands before ordering.
Newland states up to 12 hours on one charge from the 3.8 V, 3,300 mAh battery. The battery is built in and cannot be swapped, so the WD1 charges between shifts: about 4 hours from below 5%, over USB-C or in a single-slot cradle. Cradles can be combined up to 5 slots for a charging bank.
Yes, if the app runs on Android 13 and works on a 2.8-inch, 640 × 480 screen. Scanned data reaches the app as keystrokes, through Newland's API broadcast or directly into a text field.
