Why the NQuire1000
The NQuire1000 is Newland's 10.1-inch interactive kiosk: a wall- or stand-mounted Android 13 screen with a scan engine below it, which Newland titles an interactive digital tablet. This page covers the Wi-Fi version; Newland also lists a 4G version.
Newland's own scan engine reads 1D and 2D codes, and Newland says it decodes poorer-quality barcodes such as soiled or wrinkled labels. It reads a 13 mil EAN-13 from 70 mm to 610 mm.
A 10.1-inch 1280 × 800 capacitive touch screen on Android 13, with two 1.5 W speakers and multi-colour LEDs. Newland says Android can be upgraded to a higher version.
Ethernet with Power-over-Ethernet (IEEE 802.3af/at), so a shelf or pillar needs only a network cable; or use the 12 V, 3 A adapter. Dual-band Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.2 are built in.
251.7 × 173.5 × 32 mm with a VESA 75 mount, so it fits a wall, a pillar or a stand in a store or office.
USB Type-C, USB Type-A, an expansion USB, two GPIO and two serial ports. Newland says the USB and GPIO ports can take a Newland handheld scanner or control an entry/exit gate or door lock.
Newland says it works with Newland's MDM software, and Newland publishes an NQuire API handbook for developers building the price-check app.
