Why the RT700i+ / RT730i+
The RT700i+ and RT730i+ are the current colour-screen versions of Godex's RT desktop line. The RT700i+ prints at 203 dpi and up to 7 ips; the RT730i+ prints at 300 dpi and up to 5 ips. Both are aimed at retail, warehouse and travel label printing. Godex also lists an RT700i Pro / RT730i Pro line in its product range; this page covers only the RT700i+ / RT730i+ models. If you have the earlier RT700i / RT730i (without the plus), tell us the model on its label.

The RT700i+ is 203 dpi (8 dots/mm) with a 108 mm print width. The RT730i+ is 300 dpi (12 dots/mm) with a 105.7 mm print width, for finer text and smaller 2D codes.
The RT700i+ prints at up to 7 ips (178 mm/s) and the RT730i+ at up to 5 ips (127 mm/s). Print length goes up to 7,100 mm on the RT700i+ and 3,200 mm on the RT730i+, from a 3 mm minimum.
Ethernet 10/100 Mbps, RS-232 (DB-9) and a USB 2.0 port to the computer are standard. Three more USB host (Type A) sockets take flash drives, scanners and keyboards for stand-alone use. Memory is 128 MB flash (34 MB free for user storage) and 128 MB SDRAM.
Godex lists an optional WiFi and Bluetooth combo module and an optional wireless LAN module (IEEE 802.11 b/g/n), both dealer-installed, so the printer can be connected without a cable. Ask for them in the same quotation.
Ribbons up to 300 m long on a 1-inch core, a clam-shell cover and a rod-less roll holder make loading quicker. Label rolls can be up to 127 mm in diameter.
EZPL, GEPL, GZPL and GDPL switch automatically. Godex's GoLabel II design software works with EZPL only; GoTools, GoUtility, GoRibbon and the GoAPP mobile app are listed for management.

Either model prints a 4 × 6 inch courier label in about a second. The label is 101.6 mm wide, inside the print width of both models (108 mm and 105.7 mm). Counting a 3 mm gap, one label is 155.4 mm of media. The RT700i+ at 7 ips (178 mm/s) takes about 0.9 s and the RT730i+ at 5 ips (127 mm/s) about 1.2 s. A 300 m ribbon covers about 1,930 labels of that size, so a packing bench changes ribbon less often than with a 110 m ribbon.
The 203 dpi RT700i+ prints 8 dots/mm and the 300 dpi RT730i+ 12 dots/mm. Ask us to set up the MRP and net-quantity lines in your label format on either model and print test labels on your roll.
One model can run a networked packing line, take a serial feed from a weighing scale or serve a billing counter. Ethernet, RS-232 serial, a USB device port and three USB host ports are all standard, so a barcode scanner can connect straight to the printer. Godex names retail, warehouse and travel and leisure among its uses.
Find the printer a cooled spot for summer: a shop counter or godown office without cooling can pass 40 °C. The listed operating range is 5 °C to 40 °C and 30-85% humidity, non-condensing. The 100-240 VAC, 50-60 Hz supply covers 230 V and 240 V mains.
