Warehouse, production, label, stock and asset software that works with the barcode printers, scanners and mobile computers we supply, and the Windows and Android apps we set up for your devices.
A corded, host-powered 1D linear imager for warehouses: Zebra rates it to read 1D barcodes from 5.1 cm out to 17.1 m, so one scanner covers labels in the hand and on the top rack. It reads 1D barcodes only; the cordless version is the LI3678-ER.

Read rack labels and labels in hand with one corded scanner
The LI3608-ER is the corded, extended-range model of Zebra's LI3600 ultra-rugged linear imagers. It reads 1D barcodes only, from a carton in the hand to a location label on the top rack, and it takes its power from the host, so there is no battery or cradle to look after. If staff need to roam, look at the cordless LI3678-ER; if you also need QR or Data Matrix codes, look at the DS3600 scanners.
One scanner for near and far 1D labels
Zebra's spec sheet lists a 10 mil Code 39 from 5.1 cm to 177.8 cm, a 55 mil Code 39 from 15.24 cm to 889.0 cm and a 100 mil Code 39 from 50.8 cm to 1,727.2 cm. Pickers read a carton label in the hand and a rack label overhead without changing scanners.
A laser aimer you can see at a distance
The LI3608-ER lights the code with a 660 nm LED and aims with a 655 nm laser. Zebra describes the aim pattern as three central dots with two lines on the left and right, so the worker can place it on a label several metres away.
Built for drops, dust and water
Zebra's spec sheet rates the scanner for multiple 3.0 m drops to concrete at room temperature, multiple 2.4 m drops from -30 °C to 50 °C, 7,500 tumbles at 1.0 m, and IP65 and IP68 sealing.
No battery to charge, colder rating
The scanner draws 250 mA operating and 110 mA on standby (RMS typical at 5 V) from the host. The corded LI3608-ER works from -30 °C to 50 °C, against -20 °C to 50 °C for the cordless LI3678-ER.
Connects to the system you already run
USB, RS232 or keyboard wedge, and EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, Modbus TCP and standard TCP/IP through Zebra Network Connect. Zebra's 123Scan and Scanner Management Service set it up and update firmware, and Allmark connects it to your billing, ERP or warehouse software.

For buyers in India
Using the LI3608-ER in India
These are the points buyers in India ask us about the LI3608-ER. Mention the ones that apply to you when you request a quote.
Ask for the India and Korea configuration
Zebra's LI36X8 reference guide lists an LI3608-ER configuration sold in India and Korea only, alongside the worldwide one. We confirm availability and the code in the quotation.
Use the corded ER in freezer rooms down to -30 °C
Zebra rates the corded LI3608-ER from -30 °C to 50 °C, colder than the -20 °C of the cordless LI3678-ER. For a scanner that goes in and out of a freezer, ask about Zebra's heated scanner holder, which Zebra recommends to keep condensation off the window.
Check which cables need Zebra's 12 V supply
Zebra marks some of the USB, RS-232 and keyboard wedge cables it lists for the LI3608 (the 12 V versions) as needing a 12 V power supply; the BC 1.2 USB cables do not. Tell us the host port and we list the right cable and, where needed, the supply.

More about the Zebra LI3608-ER
Extended-range 1D scanning, from codes in hand to the top rack.
The LI3608-ER (corded) and LI3678-ER (cordless) are Zebra's extended-range linear imagers for the warehouse. Zebra's spec sheet rates them to capture virtually any 1D barcode, printed on a label or shown on a screen, from as close as 2 in./5.1 cm to as far as 56 ft./17.1 m away, so workers can capture codes in hand as well as on the uppermost warehouse racks.
The Zebra LI3608 ER 1D Scanner is used for: codes on the uppermost warehouse racks; codes in hand, including extra-wide codes; 1D codes on labels or screens; shrink-wrapped, damaged or poorly printed labels; forklift and shipping work; and indoor, outdoor and freezer use.

Exploring for a different use?
If your job differs from what the LI3608-ER is built for, these Zebra models may fit it better:
Buyers who move around the floor, where a cable gets in the way, often look at the
Zebra LI3678-ER (cordless, Bluetooth Class 1, 3,100 mAh battery).
Buyers who read 1D labels at arm's length, mostly pick lists and cartons, often look at the
Zebra LI3608-SR (standard range, 13 mil UPC at 2.5-78.7 cm).
Buyers who read QR, Data Matrix or other 2D codes as well, at long range, often look at the
Zebra DS3600-XR (near and far area imagers, 1D and 2D).
What is the price of the Zebra LI3608-ER in India?
The LI3608-ER price depends on the cable or accessories you need and the quantity. We do not publish prices: share the model, quantity and city, and we send a written quotation with current pricing and
delivery time, replying within one working day.
Is the LI3608-ER corded or cordless?
Corded. It takes power from the host and sends data over the host connection, so there is no battery or cradle. The cordless version is the LI3678-ER: it adds a 3,100 mAh battery and Bluetooth to a charging cradle, weighs 424 g against 327 g, and is rated to -20 °C instead of -30 °C.
Can the LI3608-ER read QR codes or Data Matrix?
No. It is a 1D linear imager and reads 1D barcodes such as Code 128, Code 39, UPC/EAN and GS1 DataBar, on a label or on a screen. For QR or Data Matrix codes on the same rugged body, choose a DS3600 scanner: the DS3608-SR for standard range or the DS3600-XR for long range.
We are replacing LS3408-ER scanners. Can we keep the old cables?
No. Zebra names the LI3600-ER and LI3600-SR as replacements for the LS3408-ER, and its LI36X8 reference guide says cables made for the LS3408, LS3578, DS3508 and DS3578 do not fit the LI3608. Tell us the host port of each station and we quote the matching LI3608 cable.
LI3608-ER or LI3608-SR: which one do we need?
Choose the ER when workers read labels on high racks or across a dock: Zebra lists a 100 mil Code 39 out to 1,727.2 cm. Choose the SR when codes are read at arm's length: it reads a 13 mil UPC from 2.5 cm to 78.7 cm and is lighter, at 287 g.
Can it connect to a PLC on the plant floor?
Zebra lists EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, Modbus TCP and standard TCP/IP through Zebra Network Connect, as well as USB, RS232 and keyboard wedge. Send us the PLC make and model, and we confirm the connection and the parts with Zebra before we quote.
Can Allmark install the LI3608-ER and connect it to our software?
Yes. We install the LI3608-ER at your site, set it to send data the way your ERP, warehouse or billing software expects (our own warehouse management system included) and train your team. Tell us the software when you ask for a quote, and we include the setup in the quotation.
