Quick answer

Three questions decide it

1. How fast at your resolution?

At 203 dpi the ZT411 and MH241 print up to 14 ips and the ZX1200i+ up to 10 ips. At 300 dpi: MH341 12 ips, ZT411 10 ips, ZX1300i+ 7 ips. At 600 dpi: MH641 6 ips, ZT411 and ZX1600i+ 4 ips. Pick the resolution from your smallest barcode or text first, then check the speed.

2. How often can you stop to change the ribbon?

The MH241 Series takes ribbons up to 600 m long. The ZT411 and ZX1200i+ Series take up to 450 m. All three take label rolls up to 203 mm (8 inches) across, so roll changes come at roughly the same point.

3. Do you need RFID, linerless or a full-roll rewinder?

RFID encoding and the on-metal tag kit: ZT411 (Godex lists an RFID module as a project option). Linerless labels: ZT411, as a factory model or field kit. A built-in 8-inch full-roll rewinder: the P models of the MH241 Series. The ZT411 also has a factory-fitted rewind option, and Godex offers a dispenser with internal rewinder.

For buyers in India

Heat, power and Indian labels

Heat on the shop floor

All three are rated up to 40 °C: the ZT411 from 5 °C in thermal transfer (0 °C in direct thermal), the MH241 Series from 0 °C and the ZX1200i+ Series from 5 °C, all non-condensing. A dock or plant without cooling can pass the rating, so keep the printer in a ventilated or cooled area.

230 V and 240 V mains

All three take 100-240 V AC at 50-60 Hz, which covers India's 230 V and 240 V mains at 50 Hz. Use a stabiliser or UPS where mains runs high.

RFID band

India's licence-free UHF RFID band is 865-868 MHz. For a ZT411 with RFID or the on-metal kit, buy tags made for the ETSI band and confirm the printer's India RFID country setting before ordering.

QR codes on bulk-drug labels

All three print QR and Data Matrix codes, including the QR code on active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) labels. At 600 dpi a dot is about 0.04 mm across, which helps with small codes on small containers.

Questions buyers ask

ZT411 vs MH241 vs ZX1200i+ questions

What is the price of the Zebra ZT411, TSC MH241 and Godex ZX1200i+ in India?

It depends on the model, the resolution (203, 300 or 600 dpi), options such as a cutter, rewinder, Wi-Fi or RFID, and the quantity. Ask our team for today's competitive price: share your requirement and budget, and we will help you choose the right configuration and send a written quotation with current pricing and delivery time.

How often will we change the ribbon?

The MH241 Series takes ribbons up to 600 m long; the ZT411 and ZX1200i+ Series take up to 450 m. On 4 × 6 inch labels with a 3 mm gap, a 600 m ribbon lasts for about 3,860 labels and a 450 m ribbon for about 2,900. Allmark supplies Zebra and TSC branded ribbons on request, or its own grade of the same type; ask us about ribbons for the ZX1200i+.

Which of them print at 600 dpi?

All three. The ZT411 takes an optional 600 dpi printhead and prints up to 4 ips with it, but the on-metal RFID kit is not offered at 600 dpi. TSC's 600 dpi model is the MH641, at up to 6 ips. Godex's is the ZX1600i+, at up to 4 ips.

Which one can encode RFID tags?

The ZT411 takes a UHF RFID encoder for EPC Gen 2 V2.1, ISO/IEC 18000-63 and RAIN RFID tags, and can be upgraded in the field. Its on-metal kit prints and encodes Silverline tags for metal assets. Godex lists an RFID read/write module for the ZX1200i+ Series as a project option. The MH241 Series page lists no RFID option.

Will they print the ZPL labels from our current printers?

The ZT411's own languages are ZPL and ZPL II, with EPL2 on 203 dpi models. The MH241 Series runs TSC's TSPL-EZD, which is compatible with EPL, ZPL, ZPL II and DPL. Godex lists EZPL, GEPL, GZPL and GDPL with automatic switching. Whichever you choose, print a test batch of your real label formats before you change over.

Can I add Wi-Fi later?

Yes, on all three. The ZT411 takes a Wi-Fi 6 card with Bluetooth 5.3, or Wi-Fi 5 with Bluetooth 4.2, in one of its two option slots. The MH241 Series takes a slot-in 802.11ac Wi-Fi module with Bluetooth 4.2; TSC says availability may vary by region. The ZX1200i+ Series takes a dealer-installed 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi and BLE 5.0 module.
