Why the LI3678-ER
The LI3678-ER is the cordless, extended-range model of Zebra's LI3600 ultra-rugged linear imagers. It reads 1D barcodes from a carton in the hand to a location label on the top rack, runs on a PowerPrecision+ battery, and talks to a Zebra cradle or host over Bluetooth. If the scanner stays at one station or works below -20 °C, the corded LI3608-ER fits better; for QR or Data Matrix codes, look at the DS3600 scanners.
Zebra lists a 10 mil Code 39 from 5.1 cm to 177.8 cm and a 100 mil Code 39 from 50.8 cm to 1,727.2 cm. A driver can read a rack label from the forklift and a carton label in the hand with the same scanner.
The PowerPrecision+ 3,100 mAh battery gives 100,000+ scans per full charge (Zebra spec sheet and reference guide). A battery charge gauge and Bluetooth status LED on the scanner, and battery health data in Zebra's tools, show when a battery needs replacing.
Bluetooth Class 1 reaches at least 100 m line of sight in open air. In Out of Range Batch Mode the scanner stores scans while out of range and sends them when it reconnects, and Virtual Tether alerts the worker when the scanner goes beyond Bluetooth range or stays out of the cradle for a set time. Batch mode does not apply in SPP peripheral mode.
Zebra rates the scanner for multiple 3.0 m drops to concrete at room temperature, multiple 2.4 m drops from -20 °C to 50 °C, 7,500 tumbles at 1.0 m and IP65 and IP68 sealing. The FLB3678 cradle is sealed to IP65, and the charging contacts are rated for 250,000+ insertions.
With AutoConfig the settings live in the cradle, so a scanner paired to a different cradle takes that host's settings, for example from the forklift to the shipping desk. Allmark sets up the cradles and connects them to your billing, ERP or warehouse software.

Zebra's 3600 Series accessory guide lists BTRY-36IAB0E-00K as the spare battery for the DS3678 and LI3678 sold in India and Korea only, and its LI36X8 reference guide lists an India and Korea configuration of the LI3678-ER. We confirm availability and both codes in the quotation.
Zebra's reference guide gives up to three hours for a full charge on external power and up to ten hours on USB power, at 0 °C to 40 °C (5 °C to 35 °C ideal). For back-to-back shifts, ask for the 12 V supply or a four-slot spare battery charger.
The cordless LI3678-ER is rated from -20 °C to 50 °C; the corded LI3608-ER goes down to -30 °C. For forklifts that run in and out of cold rooms, Zebra recommends its heated scanner holder to keep condensation off the scan window.

Extended-range 1D scanning, from codes in hand to the top rack.
The LI3678-ER (cordless) and LI3608-ER (corded) are Zebra's extended-range linear imagers for the warehouse. Zebra's spec sheet rates them to capture virtually any 1D barcode, printed on a label or shown on a screen, from as close as 2 in./5.1 cm to as far as 56 ft./17.1 m away, so workers can capture codes in hand as well as on the uppermost warehouse racks.
The Zebra LI3678 ER 1D Scanner is used for: codes on the uppermost warehouse racks; codes in hand, including extra-wide codes; 1D codes on labels or screens; shrink-wrapped, damaged or poorly printed labels; forklift and shipping work; and indoor, outdoor and freezer use.

Zebra's spec sheet table and reference guide give 100,000+ scans per full charge from the PowerPrecision+ 3,100 mAh battery. A full charge takes up to three hours on external power. For multi-shift work, add a spare battery and Zebra's four-slot spare battery charger.
Bluetooth Class 1 reaches at least 100 m line of sight in open air. With Out of Range Batch Mode switched on, the scanner stores scans while out of range and sends them when it reconnects; Zebra gives 9,000 bytes of memory for stored codes. Virtual Tether can alert when the scanner goes beyond range or stays out of the cradle for a set time. Batch mode does not apply in SPP peripheral mode.
Both charge the scanner and link it to the host over Bluetooth, with USB, RS-232, keyboard wedge or IBM 468X/469X on the host side. The FLB3678 is sealed to IP65 and has its own mounting plate, so we suggest it for dusty or wet areas and mounted use; the STB3678 suits a desk or bench.
Zebra lists serial port (SPP) and HID Bluetooth profiles, so it can pair with a Bluetooth host as well as with a Zebra cradle. Tell us the device and the app, and we check the pairing mode before we quote.
Zebra names the LI3678 as the replacement for the LS3578-ER. Zebra's LI36X8 reference guide says cables made for the LS3578 do not fit the new scanners, so plan new cradles and cables. We can quote the full set for each station.
