Why the PC45T

4-inch labels at up to 8 ips, set up on a touch screen

The PC45T is the thermal transfer model of Honeywell's PC45 desktop series, which Honeywell positions as the next generation after its E-Class and PC43 printers. It sits above the entry PC42E-T: faster, more memory, a colour touch screen and more printer languages. Honeywell also sells a direct thermal model, the PC45d.

Faster labels at both resolutions

Up to 8 ips with the 203 dpi printhead, or 6 ips at 300 dpi for small product and component labels. Print width is 108 mm at 203 dpi and 106 mm at 300 dpi, on media up to 118 mm wide.

Set up and check it at the printer

A 3.5-inch, 320 × 240 colour touch screen runs a startup wizard, shows network, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth details, and prints test labels from the Tools menu, so a supervisor can check a printer without opening a PC.

Works with older Honeywell, Intermec and ZPL formats

Fingerprint, Direct Protocol, IPL, DPL and ZSim2 (ZPL-II) emulation, plus XML for SAP AII and Oracle WMS, PDF printing and C# apps on the printer. Existing label formats from older printers can often be kept, which cuts migration time.

Warnings before the roll runs out

The optional media low sensor and Honeywell's low-label and low-ribbon warnings tell staff to load stock before a job stops. The optional self-strip module comes with a label taken sensor (LTS).

Ethernet now, Wi-Fi when you need it

Ethernet 10/100, USB 2.0 device and USB 2.0 host are standard. A Wi-Fi 6 (802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax) and Bluetooth 5.2 kit can be fitted in the factory or in the field, and RS-232 serial is optional.

Managed as one fleet

Honeywell Printer Edge, the printer web interface, PrintSet 6, SOTI Connect and Honeywell Operational Intelligence (OpIntel) cover configuration, firmware updates and remote monitoring across sites. 512 MB flash and 256 MB RAM hold fonts, graphics and formats.

Used in

  • Warehousing and 3PL
  • Transport and logistics
  • Manufacturing (auto components, electronics)
  • Pharmaceutical and API plants
  • FMCG and packaged food
  • Retail distribution centres and back rooms
  • Government and public sector offices

For buyers in India

Using the PC45T in India

These are the points buyers in India ask us about the PC45T. Mention the ones that apply to you when you request a quote.

Runs on 50 Hz mains; stabilise for surges

The PC45T runs on Indian 50 Hz mains; add a stabiliser or small online UPS for surges. Honeywell rates the PC45 power supply at 100 to 240 V AC, 50 to 60 Hz, 1.5 A. With an online UPS, a desk printer that ships orders all day keeps printing through power cuts.

Rated to 45 °C and 90% humidity

The PC45T takes more heat and humidity than the PC42E-T, but still wants a shaded, ventilated spot. Honeywell rates it for 0 °C to 45 °C at 10% to 90% humidity, non-condensing; the PC42E-T for 5 °C to 40 °C at up to 80%.

Ethernet and USB built in; Wi-Fi optional

A PC45T on a wired dispatch desk needs nothing extra: every unit has Ethernet and USB built in. Wi-Fi 6 with Bluetooth 5.2 is an option, fitted at the factory or later. If the printer will sit away from a network point, say so in your quote request so the wireless kit is included.

300 dpi fits API QR codes in less space

On a crowded API container label, the 300 dpi PC45T fits the same QR data into a smaller square. Honeywell lists QR among the PC45T's 2D barcodes. Each dot is 0.125 mm at 8 dots/mm (203 dpi) and about 0.083 mm at 12 dots/mm (300 dpi).

Check Indian-script text with your own font

If PC45T labels carry Hindi, Tamil or another Indian language, print samples from your own label software first. Honeywell lists the character sets as Latin and Asian fonts and does not name Devanagari, Tamil or any other Indian script. Ask us to set up your label format and print test labels on your roll.

Exploring for a different use?

If your job differs from what the PC45T is built for, these Honeywell models may fit it better:

  • Buyers who print everyday labels at lighter volumes and want a simpler, lighter printer, often look at the Honeywell PC42E-T (up to 6 ips, LED and buttons, 2.04 kg).
  • Buyers who print long runs on a production or dispatch line often look at the Honeywell PM45 (industrial printer, up to 14 ips, all-metal mechanism, 203 to 600 dpi).

Questions buyers ask

PC45T FAQ

What is the price of the Honeywell PC45T in India?

The PC45T price depends on the resolution you choose (203 or 300 dpi), the options you add and the quantity. We can quote the labels and ribbon with it. Ask our team for today's competitive price: share your requirement and budget, and we will help you choose the right configuration and send a written quotation with current pricing and delivery time.

PC45T or PC42E-T: which should we buy?

Choose the PC45T when the printer runs most of the shift or must take over from older Honeywell or Intermec printers: it prints at up to 8 ips, has a colour touch screen, 512 MB flash and Fingerprint, IPL and DPL languages. The PC42E-T is the entry model, up to 6 ips with an LED and buttons, and suits lighter daily volumes. Both take 203 or 300 dpi printheads and have Ethernet built in.

Will our existing ZPL or Intermec label formats print on it?

Usually, yes. The PC45T runs ZSim2 (ZPL-II emulation) and the Intermec and Honeywell languages Fingerprint, Direct Protocol, IPL and DPL, plus XML for SAP AII and Oracle WMS. Emulation can differ in details such as fonts, so send one or two of your current label files with the enquiry and name the software that prints them.

Which labels and ribbons does the PC45T take?

Media up to 118 mm wide on rolls up to 127 mm in diameter, on 12.7, 25.4 or 38.1 mm cores, 0.05 to 0.16 mm thick. It takes 0.5-inch ribbon cores, and 0.5-inch and 1-inch core adapters fit notchless ribbon cores. We supply PC45T ribbons up to 300 m long; Honeywell's public datasheet does not state a maximum. Send us your label size and we will quote the ribbon width and grade to match.

What is the difference between the PC45T and the PC45d?

Both belong to Honeywell's PC45 series and share the 3.5-inch touch screen, speeds and interfaces. The PC45T takes a ribbon for thermal transfer labels that last, such as asset, carton and product labels. The PC45d is Honeywell's direct thermal model: no ribbon, smaller at 168 × 181.3 × 215.6 mm and 1.8 kg, for labels with a short life, such as shipping and receipts.

Does the PC45T need Wi-Fi, or is Ethernet enough?

Ethernet, USB device and USB host are standard, which covers a fixed label station on the office network. Add Honeywell's Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 kit, in the factory or later in the field, when the printer moves between lines or has no network point nearby. RS-232 serial is an option for older equipment.

Will the PC45T run on Indian mains power?

Yes. Honeywell rates the power supply at 100 to 240 V AC, 50 to 60 Hz, which suits Indian 230 V and 240 V, 50 Hz supply. Where mains runs high or surges, a stabiliser or online UPS is a sensible safeguard for a printer you depend on.

Can Allmark install the PC45T and connect it to our software?

Yes. We install the PC45T at your site, connect it so your ERP, warehouse or billing software prints to it (our own warehouse management system included) and train the people who use it. Tell us the software when you ask for a quote, and we include the setup in the quotation.
