Why the Voyager XP 1470g
The Voyager XP 1470g is Honeywell's corded Voyager XP scanner; the Voyager XP 1472g is its cordless version. Honeywell names the 1470g as the replacement for the Voyager 1450g and for the Hyperion 1300g, which it lists as end of life in September 2025.
Honeywell built the 1470g to read damaged and poorly printed codes. It decodes at a print contrast as low as 15% and tolerates hand movement of 70 cm/s on a 13 mil UPC, so a cashier keeps scanning instead of typing numbers by hand.
A standard retail barcode (13 mil UPC) reads from 18 mm to 400 mm in Honeywell's tests. The cashier can scan a heavy bag at the bottom of the trolley without lifting it onto the counter.
The 1470g reads codes shown on customers' smartphones, such as digital coupons and wallet passes, along with printed merchandise codes. It reads QR, Data Matrix, PDF417 and the common 1D retail codes.
Sealed to IP52 against dust and dripping water, and engineered for 30 drops to concrete from 1.8 m and 1,000 tumbles at 0.5 m. Fewer broken scanners means fewer counters stopped while a replacement arrives.
Honeywell states the 1470g is backward-compatible with existing Voyager accessories, and its stand and holder fit both the Voyager 1250g and the 1470g. Replacing older scanners need not mean buying new stands for every counter.
EZConfig can create one configuration barcode that sets up each scanner with a single scan, and Honeywell's Scanner Management Utility (SMU) handles deployment and firmware updates. Allmark configures the scanners for your billing, POS or ERP software and trains your staff on site.

The corded 1470g has no battery, so heat never holds up charging as it can on the cordless 1472g, which Honeywell says charges only between 5 °C and 40 °C. The 1470g is rated to work from 0 °C to 50 °C; keep the counter out of direct sun.
One 1470g covers the billing counter, whichever code a brand prints. The 1470g we supply reads both 1D barcodes and 2D codes, with QR codes down to 6 mil and Data Matrix down to 5 mil.
The 1470g reads a supplier's e-invoice QR at the purchase desk; whether the fields fill in by themselves depends on your purchase or ERP software reading the signed QR. In Honeywell's tests the 1470g reads a 20 mil QR code from 5 mm to 325 mm.

Yes. Honeywell's discontinued-products list shows the 2D Voyager 1450g as end of life since October 2019 and the 1D version since November 2022, and names the Voyager XP 1470g as the replacement. The Hyperion 1300g, the other option Honeywell gave for the 1D model, is itself end of life since September 2025. Tell us how many counters you run and we will plan the change one counter at a time.
Yes. The 1470g we supply is Honeywell's 2D model (1470g2D): it reads 1D barcodes, PDF417 and 2D codes such as QR and Data Matrix, on paper labels and on phone screens. Honeywell also makes a 1D-only version (1470g1D) that cannot read QR codes. If your counters only ever scan ordinary barcodes and you want a laser scanner, look at the Voyager 1250g.
Yes. Honeywell designed the 1470g to read digital coupons and wallet codes on customers' smartphones as well as printed labels. A 20 mil QR code reads from about 5 mm to 325 mm in Honeywell's tests. Ask the customer to turn up the screen brightness if a cracked or dim screen slows the read.

Yes. Besides the normal manual trigger, the 1470g has a presentation mode in which it scans as soon as it sees a barcode. Set it in a stand at the counter and staff can hold items under it with both hands. One configuration barcode from the quick start guide switches the mode; we set it during installation if you prefer.
The 1470g connects over USB, keyboard wedge or RS-232 and supports 84 keyboard layouts, so scanned data reaches your software like typed text. Honeywell's quick start guide also shows an RS-485 connection for IBM POS terminals.
